A 10.1-inch Aspire One with HD graphics card and AMD processor!

The 521 is an Aspire One netbook which is trying out the green color of AMD. Available in several configurations, the model put forward by Acer seems somewhat expensive for what it offers: an HD chip, but no panel display suitable for use.

In the wave of ads for the start of Acer, we already talked about the Aspire One D260, a 10.1-inch model running the Intel platform N450. Other netbook to arrive on the shelves of school: the Aspire One 521. And, contrary to all his classmates and competitors, it has a chipset AMD processor V105 1.2 GHz (400 MHz less than the N450) and a chipset incorporating M880G true graphical part The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225. From Vision AMD entry-level, in short, but can not decide on the capabilities of the machine, the processor has not yet passed into our hands.

10.1 inches but no HD video card

With the Aspire 521, Acer hopes to reach fans of PC fine, because all the finish is neat, and this reference will be available in several colors. However, the screen of 10.1 inch LED does not see its definition and is increasing in 1024 x 600 pixels, while the netbook is perfectly equipped to 720p or 080p for one. Of course, the HDMI can harness the decompression function HD TV on a PC, but with the 250 GB hard drive, there is not much room to store his collection of films in addition to other documents and files stored usually on this type of machine (pictures, text, music …). Moreover, as the D260, Acer has removed the Bluetooth module, leaving only one providing the Wi-Fi b / g / n. Finally, the One 521 will see a battery equipped with six cells, and Acer announced a weight of 1.25 kilograms, making it an autonomous model and light.

The One 521 should be available mid-August at a price of 349 euros. Attractive, yes, but for a few euros more, a slab HD was fashionable!
