Acer newTouch P300

The Windows Acer P300 phone soon available in all Europe

Less powerful than its predecessor, the S200, the P300 incorporates newTouch however a true slider.

Succeeding the first wave of smartphones Windows Mobile 6.5 Acer (such as newTouch S200) the P300 and P400 newTouch, presented by the manufacturer at the last Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, should soon be landing in Europe. Both devices have the latest version of the Microsoft OS – 6.5.3, probably one of the latest Windows Mobile developments before the arrival of Windows 7 Series phone later this year – but have to a mid-range equipment allowing Acer to sell at a relatively attractive.

A slide-out keyboard for messaging

With its sliding QWERTY keyboard, the P300 newTouch is especially dedicated to messaging applications. Compatible with Wi-Fi and 3.5 G, it integrates a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor and 256 MB of RAM. Its multimedia features include a 3.2 megapixel photo sensor and it has a touch screen resistive up to 8 inches diagonal. The device comes with Internet Explorer 6, Windows Live Messenger, Microsoft Office Suite, but also Spinlets Acer (application streaming music from manufacturer) and Google Maps.

The P400 newTouch basically follows the same features without the sliding QWERTY keyboard (the device’re integrating a virtual keyboard accessible from the touch screen) and a 600 MHz processor. Both devices will be marketed at a price of 329 EUR before subsidies or operator in the month of May
