Canon Ixus 110IS

A new luxury compact from Canon

If the formula of the Ixus range of compact luxury Canon remains the same in the initial idea that the models are adding new capabilities over time. And of course if the new 110IS which consequently, has taken some overweight compared to the original. While it is far from being among the lightest, its forms, however, the discussions will slip into a pocket or bag without difficulty.

Interesting features

Canon-Ixus-110ISThis includes new Ixus interesting features like wide-angle zoom (28-112 mm) and adopts a 12 megapixel sensor, which was probably not necessary. The real technical innovation is the adoption of HD video (720P) with an output HMDI cable but is absent from the box, following a well-established habit. Other changes concern the usability and automation. A selector offers the choice between video mode, and auto program. This is a way “green” where automation takes care of everything and almost nothing is adjustable by the user. The parameter set is thus given to the automatic selection of scene, with of course the face detection. Another novelty is the ergonomic control scrolling pictures read by detecting the movement of the aircraft up or down. A benefit “geek” quite nice but nothing essential … In fact, the IXUS 110IS generally provides very good shots, well exposed with a very good real definition but did not reach what is best in field. Interestingly, Canon has managed the remarkable increase in sensitivity since the image quality and definition remains good up to ISO 800, which was not evident with such a sensor.

Test and review conclusion

In conclusion, the Canon IXUS 110IS is a very good rose and will be a very attractive choice for those seeking good pictures with a maximum of simplicity.
