Fujifilm FinePix HS10
Wide-Angle superzoom for this bridge and Fuji gifted
Its technical specifications are impressive: x30 zoom, 24mm wide-angle, full HD video, etc.. The bridge goal?
The race at ultra-powerful zoom in the bridge is launched: after theOlympus SP-800 UZ which showed a x30 zoom, Fujifilm FinePix reply with HS10 with the same magnification. But, unlike its competitor, Fujifilm not only a 28mm, but pushes the wide-angle to 24mm. Thus, if the SP-800 UZ see farther (28-840 mm), the HS10 is more versatile with its 24-720 mm.
Versatility
With such optical range, Fujifilm covers virtually all needs of an amateur photographer: landscape photo of the interior through the photo of sport and nature. Or how to go with one unit during a journey. Something here for those allergic to compact that will not crawl all optical SLR.
Zoom ring
Fujifilm has also pushed up the detailed integration of a zoom ring: you zoom-zoom out with a spiral ring placed on the lens, as the SLR, and not using slow buttons zoom offered by the overwhelming majority of compact cameras and bridges. It offers the best possible ergonomic fit.
Sensor 10 Mpix new generation
As Sony WX1 we testedThis FinePix HS10 is equipped with a sensor “returned”, that is to say, a sensor whose circuits are not in front but behind the pixels. It should be, hence, more sensitive and thus deliver better outcomes in low light. Another good point for this device.
Video Mode … Full HD!
Although most digital cameras have converted to HD video, the latter is generally limited to 720p (1280 x 720 pixels). Not doing things halfway, the HS10 is, who is capable of filming in Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels). It is thus on a par, at least in terms of definition, with Canon 5D Mark II, Panasonic GH1, Casio EX-F1 and Canon EOS 550D. A portion of a video enhanced high-speed mode (again, as theEX-F1) Capturing 1000 frames per second in a resolution probably very small.
Advanced Scene modes
A video scene modes plus improved: a panorama mode for WX1 (it scans the scene and the camera assembles a panoramic image on the fly), a fashion “tourist”, which captures 5 images of a scene to remove the mobile elements (tourists in flip-flops, for example), a low light mode, alleging F200EXR, creating a clean image from several shots, and a mode decomposition of movement for all fans of swing who like to see in slow motion.
With a look very pro, the HS10 has of course P, A, S and M world of SLR to switch off his camera manually. It also has a large rotating screen, whose definition is still fairly limited (230,000 pixels).
Available late April, this little gem will be sold 429 euros and could, under its impressive technical specifications, be awarded the crown of “king of bridges. If the test is successful …

Pretty good post. I just stumbled upon your site and wanted to saythat I’ve really liked browsing your posts. Anyway I’ll be subscribing to your blog and I hope you write again soon! Here is my blog about Games.
I have tested the Fujifilm HS10 and Sony HX1.
HS10:
- In photo mode the AF-C “continuous” is not.
If you press 1/2 AF is blocked same as in AF-S
So, impossible to take movement.
- Movie mode is not customizable but good quality.
- Macro is excellent
