HP W2309m
Design inspired by Mac
This 23-inch LCD monitor signed by HP does not hide its inspirations. Clearly, the shadow hanging over the Macintosh design of HP W2309m, either for the foot curved aluminum or black front of the camera. However, that is not a Mac. The finish is honorable, the materials are of quality but without achieving excellence. In terms of performance, the contrast of W2309m is very good. The default color temperature is too hot, like skin tones too red. We have reason to prefer a setting by hand. Another regret, some light leakage on the top of the slab are more irritating than the glossy does not favor vertical viewing angles. The programs offered are not necessarily more convincing. However the overdrive will accelerate the slab and it is adjustable by hand.
Not ideal for movies
For video, the better off to avoid jerks in the shots. Nevertheless, it will do with this particular video noise in the shadows. In short, despite its full-HD resolution, the screen is not comfortable with the movies. In games, it’s better to activate the overdrive condition. The pictures are clear enough even in abrupt movements of the camera. But HP W2309m it lacks the control and sometimes the colors are not good in transition. Otherwise, the connection is quite complete with a double VGA / DVI plus HDMI. HP goes a step further than others in terms of ergonomics, with a slab adjustable tilt and a rotating support. We would have preferred a height adjustment. For the rest, HP W2309m it is a good screen, not too expensive and quite versatile.
