JVC HD550

D-ILA technology for a beautiful image

Let us not beat around the bush, the HD550 is simply one of the best models currently available on the upscale market. The image delivered is absolutely superb in every respect. D-ILA technology, completely mastered by the manufacturer, shows no intrinsic capacity to date compared with the competition. Blacks are extremely deep and native contrast ratio proves extraordinary. Understand by this that the picture looks remarkably like what one can see the best flat screen except this time, the magic takes place on a canvas of 2.5 meters wide! Whatever the type of film shown, the JVC is doing handily with a strong ability to provide relief and life to all environments designed by the cinematographer.

Very good factory settings

JVC-HD550We are rediscovering passages often seen in movies yet again, so that one would criticize the already high performance projectors like the Panasonic or Epson TW4400 PTAE4000. On the other hand, the factory settings designed by the engineers of JVC are close to perfection, which can enjoy the show almost immediately after the physical installation of the projector. The recent addition of Clear Motion Drive method has been developed exclusively for use with signals at 50 or 60 frames per second. The result is more than satisfactory, the images are fluid wish. For full-HD sources such as Blu-ray Disc in 24p, by unnecessary cons want to start the Clear Motion Drive for the HD550 knows the process and the images are fluid, because naturally captured originally on film with silver relatively slow shutter speeds.

Test and review conclusions

Finally, we can blame only one thing in HD550: its relative inability to give the best of himself outside of a dedicated home theater use. Thus, the subjective performance achieved with HD gaming consoles were not as exceptional as the rest.
