Newcomer in the in-ear headphones
A newcomer to the world of in-ear headphones, Klipsch could be expected with curiosity as the trademark had no reputation to begin random. We were not disappointed. Top model, the X5 comes with a hard case, an airplane adapter, a cleaning tool and a lot of different tips. Its form is quite amazing, the earphones that looks like a kind of suppository. It is immediately apparent that their introduction in the ears is extremely easy, much more than all others (many) models we’ve tried. However, no adjustment issue whatever the ear. The diameter of the tube emissivity is only 4 mm and we certainly find the right piece in the lot provided.
Perfect acoustic coupling
The only fear we may have is that if the X5 goes very easily in the ear, there is not too deep insert accidentally. Indeed, nothing appeared, due to its streamlined shape, object to such an intrusion. In fact, the risk seems very limited but we can not exclude it completely. In all cases, the X5 is to be counted among the true ITE penetrating deep into the ear canal. This allows perfect acoustical coupling and also a very good soundproofing vis-à-vis the outside. In listening, we were immediately impressed by the excellent overall balance achieved without any complications, the earphones are positioned perfectly in the ear naturally. In addition, the port is much better than most models, the seal is not obtained by undue pressure. The sound delivered is well defined with a very big in the bass that does not mean invading. The only slight weakness seems to lie in the extreme acute clearly attenuated.
Test and review conclusions
Pleasant to use and providing a very good sound reproduction, the Klipsch Image X5 is one of our favorites. Only the already high prices can constitute an obstacle.
