this product just overtook the standard usb 2.0 on all laptop and cpu in the market. the question is will your computer fully utilize its potential?! using usb 3.0 on usb2.0 port will just limit you to usb 2.0 maximum transfer speed depending on your computer’s potential. In short you have to have a usb 3.0 port to be fully amazed of this product.but it is a great new product.
Thanks for the heads up. I have a LaCie portable drive at the moment but anything that can be done to make the data transfer fast is okay by me. This might be useful for gaming as well at the higher speed.
