The new 23-inch monitor from NEC focuses on energy conservation. So he equipped with a white LED backlight, a need to halve its power consumption compared to a conventional backlight (for neon). This screen is also equipped with a light sensor, which dynamically manages screen brightness according to ambient lighting. Saving energy is optimal. NEC announces a maximum consumption of 28 W.

This E231W should have expertise in the area of NEC’s LCD, it looks like a high end monitor. The LCD panel maintains, however, a conventional TN technology, with a response time of 5ms, a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a definition Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels.
No HDMI, but the DisplayPort!
Surprisingly, we find a DisplayPort input behind the screen, something rare enough to be reported. NEC still happening HDMI input, the manufacturer does not seem too appreciate this interface (a history of licensing fees?). Whatever the DVI port is HDCP compliant, and an analog interface D-Sub traditional persists for maximum compatibility with older hardware.
The MultiSync E231W is announced available beginning in September, suggested retail price of 322 euros.
