Like its big brother Coolpix S8000, Nikon Coolpix S6000 is a compact camera dressed in a beautiful metal box of only 25 mm thick for 155 grams. So it is a discrete unit that can be always carry in a pocket. Despite her tiny waist, the Coolpix S6000 integrates a powerful 7x optical zoom starting at wide-angle lens with a focal length equivalent to 28 mm (when the S8000 does not start at 30mm). The image stabilization is very useful for shooting at larger magnification.
Starting in a flash
Like its older sensor is 14.2 megapixels, sensitivity amount to 3200 ISO in full definition, allowing shots in dimly lit scenes. Nikon has boosted the ignition and development of the S6000. The manufacturer announced that Nippon takes only 0.75 seconds to set off his device and that the development is also fast. The S6000 is satisfied with an LCD screen of 6.8 inches diagonally with a resolution of only 231,000 points. His big brother is better off with a screen of 7.6 cm and 921 000 points. The screen however, has anti-reflective treatment and automatically adjust the brightness to make the display readable even in direct sunlight.
HD video
Like many current CD, the S6000 records video in high definition 720p or 1280 x 720 dots at 30 frames per second. The sequences are encoded in H264 and the device has a specific button for video. The only weakness is the inability to zoom while filming.
The Nikon Coolpix S6000 is already on sale, for 229 euros or 50 euros cheaper than S8000. Available in black or red, the camera comes with a cover and a 4 GB memory card
