Olympus MJU Tough 8000
All terrain waterproof camera
Located at the top of the range equipment and all terrain waterproof Olympus, the mju Tough 8000 is a compact size yet classic, only its weight is substantially higher than average. He owes it to the obvious use of solid metal, the Olympus μ Tough 8000 is designed to withstand harsh treatment. It also provides a seal really serious, because the depth of immersion can reach 10 meters. It even has a pressure sensor to indicate the depth of diving! Zoom side, we find the same perspective as its little brother 6000, still protected by a metal shutter and provided with an entourage that avoids to put your fingers. This zoom periscope is a wide-angle model, which is obviously important for the uses envisaged. Like other models, and despite its level range, Olympus mju Tough 8000 is a fully automatic camera, the passage by the user program still allowing access to some settings.
Face detection included
Automation are very complete with face detection developed, automatic scene recognition and a dual image stabilization. Only regret that at this level HD video quality is lacking. In practice, the Tough-8000 proved responsive and enjoyable to use. Wide angle, image quality is honorable but lacks a little sharpness as the 6000, the telephoto is more satisfactory. Images are generally good but we could expect a little more of a premium. The same goes for the increasing ISO sensitivity, where the 12 megapixels do not help. If its photographic qualities do not come out of the lot, the Olympus mju Tough-8000 will appeal to true adventurers who want a rugged device can withstand conditions of employment very difficult.
