Philips DC220

Design nice and compact

Truly compact and designed without frills, the DC220 is an iPod alarm clock that will easily want to install at home if we try something simple and functional. The display is located on the base for iPod and pleasant surprise, we find that the unit starts the clock automatically by inserting the player or an Apple iPhone (assumed at the time!). One wonders why others do not … Otherwise, the possibilities of the DC220 are very complete with an FM tuner and a line input. The alarm clock functions with two different alarms that can let you sleep on weekends, seem quite sufficient for everyday use.

Philips-DC220As for sound, this model has a serious correction called DBB (Digital Bass Boost) operated by a key, which lets you choose between two styles of sound reproduction.

A good choice

The rest of the audio portion is quite classic with two speakers broadband loaded bass-reflex vents leading to the rear. For sound reproduction system with DBB, the DC220 will be a bit bigger than it is inflating his grave. With music requiring a perfect balance, the result is a sound “boomy” we can find unpleasant. In contrast to some current music, we can also easily be fooled. Without the correction of serious, it’s done nicely but we can find that missing bass. A matter of taste, you have the choice! Undoubtedly, if you are looking for a simple but effective iPod alarm clock at a reasonable price, the Philips DC220 model is very well placed.
