At first glance, the ergonomics of the model remains within the standards of the series: no separate keys (chiclet) for the keyboard and touchpad a bit small. It is a shame! In contrast, Samsung makes a great effort by offering plastic mats inside the R540, so that fingerprints do not swarm on the palm rest after a few minutes of use.

The R540 (NP-R540-JS01) does not propose a mechanism of hell, but enough to make the desktop and multimedia (in small doses) and to run games too much lately. With its Intel Core i3-350M, 4GB of DDR3 memory and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145, it will not offer you much more.
For 699 euros, equipment and connections are fairly minimal: Wi-Fi b / g / n, Ethernet port, three USB ports, VGA, HDMI, and only 320 GB hard drive. However, the fewer components to power, more autonomy has to be important: 2 hours and 30 minutes of video playback, 4 hours 30 minutes in office use. The PC is in the low average of 15.6 inches sold in this price range.
Note the availability of another reference (R540-JS02), with 4GB memory and 500GB disk, priced at 749 euros. Both versions of the Samsung R540 seem a bit expensive for what they have to offer under the hood.
