Sharp LC-40LV3

Sharp launches 3D TV Quattron

The manufacturer must take part in the competition around the 3D and announced the upcoming release of compatible televisions.

This is the smallest model in the range of LCD TVs 3D Quattron proposed by Sharp. LCD TV’s high-end connected, WiFi Ready, fitted with an LED backlight (real!) And promising beautiful rich and colorful images and quality sound.

When Sharp launched in Europe a major advertising campaign on its first series of LCD televisions Quattron (LE820), presented the first television sets in Japan Quattron compatible 3D. This series LV3 which will be marketed in Asia from July 30. It probably will not have the same name in Europe and will be distributed in stores during the month of October, but the specifications should be identical.

Four sizes of screens and we are promised (40, 46, 52 and 60 inches). All Quattron exploit technology that adds the three primary colors yellow base. If one refers to what we saw on the LE820, the result is pretty convincing and produces images with color shots of a broader color spectrum and blues more nuanced. Add to this the presence of a system of LED backlighting lining the back of the slab with a control intensity areas, integration of technology FRED (Frame Rate Enhanced Driving) that allows Sharp to improving the use and uniformity of light distribution for the 3D technology UV2A (Ultraviolet Induced Multi-domain Vertical Alignment) to ensure optimal control of the liquid crystal alignment and improves the response time of the slab . Is obtained, it seems, images of beauty.

New: converting 2D to 3D!

These Quattron TVs will be equipped with 3D conversion mode 2D> 3D, but also a 3D mode Brightness Boost accessed directly from the remote control to select different levels of brightness depending on the program and ambient conditions. They will also be accompanied by a pair of active glasses equipped with a function to convert 3D> 2D. A first. These glasses are indeed equipped with a button for each viewer to select the viewing mode that suits him best: 3D or 2D. These active glasses are available in three colors and can be recharged through the USB port of your TV. They also have a standby function.

If particular care was given to the image, the sound also has been pampered with system integration RHSO 2.1 (Around Speaker System). It is a system composed of eight 4-way HP arranged on the sides of the TV, 2 HP low under the TV, amplifier and digital Chipset Audioengine Yamaha to simulate a 3D sound (3D Sound Spacious) from any stereo source.

These TVs will not exceed 4 inches thick and will be equipped with several desirable features, including one for recording TV programs on an external hard drive or USB stick. Sharp has even provided a function through which the TV can memorize the programs most often watched and saved, and automatically start recording them without the user having to lift a finger. Rather amusing.

Three HDMI 1.4

Sharp also provided a USB Wi-Fi option to break free from a wired connection to share various digital media from home and access to online services. If Japanese users will be entitled to Yahoo! Japan, DoTV Digital Magazine and on VOD in France, we do not yet know the nature of the services to be offered. We know however that there will be three HDMI 1.4, two USB ports, an Ethernet port, RS-232, VGA input, analog inputs (SCART, S-Video, YUV), an optical digital audio output and a headphone output.

As for prices, they are not yet known either. Some rumors said they should start at 2500 euros. Recall that these TVs will be sold Quattrone 3D in Europe during October and will be presented at the IFA in August next.
