Shure SE102
Interesting design and good finish
New entry-level model in Shure SE102 the barely distinguishable at first sight of its more upscale counterparts. It welcomes back the build quality of other models, especially the cable system which seems very sturdy and is designed in two parts, thereby facilitating use in different contexts. We can only blame him for being a bit stiff. The accessories are obviously more limited than in high-end, with earbuds in three sizes and a small soft case for transport. The headphones are designed in the usual style of Shure with a rather tortured but well suited to the ears. Tips are classic models, but you can naturally acquire other types of accessory nipples.
Good quality of sound
Listening, the SE102 offers a refund in the same vein as other achievements of Shure, with a medium that both defined and very sweet to enjoy the detail of what we listen without aggression but without sail or staining. However, one can find that balance is limited to one place rather severe. If present and if it falls below its level may seem too small for some users. All this depends on the tastes and music listened to everyone. A very simple little EQ can remedy the problem if you think necessary. The efficiency, less than on other models, is sufficient to achieve a high level already with a player. The soundproofing is quite important and you will not be too bothered by outside noise. All of which should get you to pay attention to your ears …
Test and review conclusions
It’s hard not to recommend the Shure SE102 for those looking for a serious ear-canal. If you can prefer a little EQ, its basic qualities are real, and its price rather mild for access.
