A media hub that plays HD movies and other files stored on a USB key or external hard drive.
Transcend sells its first HD media gateway. With no hard drive and network interface, the DMP10 reads your media files from its USB ports exclusively.
Transcend announces its first HD media player, the DMP10. A small box (14.6 x 12.2 x 3.5 cm) not to be confused with a multimedia hard drive, since it incorporates no hard drive and read files in an external storage unit (key USB hard disk, etc..). Two USB ports are available, one forward and one aft.
HD and digital sound
DivX, Xvid, MPEG-1, 2 and 4, WMV, MJPEG, MP3, WMA, AAC, JPEG, BMP, and we pass, the DMP10 Transcend should not reserve surprises for fans of multimedia files of all kinds, subtitles included (SRT, SMI, ASS, SSA, etc..).
Aficionados of the HD will also be served: Videos H264/AVC, VC1 and MKV, WMV HD, RMVB and M2TS are supported. Note also compatible with OGG and Flac a final format that music lovers will appreciate.
Transcend chooses a connection somewhat minimalist, but effective. Composite to connect this camera to an old TV and the HDMI 1.3 HD flat screen. The audio also benefits from an analog composite (RCA) and an optical digital audio output. What offer good sound reproduction, thanks to DTS and Dolby Digital.
The DMP10 is sold at a price, actually quite high at 114 euros with a remote control. Can be found in most cases the manufacturers of qualifying bonus equivalent to a network interface (Ethernet port) to read files stored on remote computers.
