ZTE Launches in Android smartphones market with the Link
The Chinese manufacturer will market in May the first Google phone in Europe.
Apart from the X760, which was launched nearly a year, ZTE marketed mainly in Europe until now mobile phones as a white label. The Chinese automaker will announce the availability beginning in May 2010, under its own brand, its first smartphone Android. Bouygues Telecom has also confirmed that the model, called Link, would very soon in its catalog. The main technical characteristics of this device are already unveiled.
3.2 megapixel camera sensor and 3G +
The ZTE Link is compatible with mobile broadband networks – EDGE, 3G, 3G + – Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, will incorporate a sensor 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio and a storage capacity of 2 GB (upgradeable to 16 GB via a microSD card slot). We know little more now.
However the device is very similar to Racer, the four models revealed a few weeks ago at Mobile World Congress and likely to be marketed in Europe. It is a smartphone Android 1.6 (Donut) and equipped with a touchscreen seven inches diagonally.
The ZTE Link should be available in May in Europe. A price has not yet been reported.
